Sleep Dentistry

Intravenous Sedation or “Twilight Sedation”

The office of an oral surgeon will often offer their patients the option of Intravenous (IV) Sedation or Dental Intravenous Anesthesia for their dental treatment. It is commonly known as “Twilight Sedation.” Under IV Sedation you will enter a “twilight sleep” which will help you to be comfortable and calm during dental procedures. Your dental procedure will be complete by the time you wake up!

  • IV sedation is designed for those patients who are unable to tolerate dental procedures.
  • It will allow you to stay relaxed and forget that the procedure ever happened.
  • IV sedation essentially helps to alleviate the anxiety associated with your treatment.
  • You can be sure that you will be calm and comfortable.

If you choose the option of IV sedation, your anesthesia will be personally administered and monitored by our certified dentist. Save yourself the costly expense of having your procedure done in an operating room.

Sedation Dentistry for the Elderly

As we age, our oral health becomes more and more important. Periodontal disease can lead to jaw bone and tooth loss; this has an immediate impact on our every daily lives. By maintaining the health of your teeth and gums you can enjoy food, maintain proper speech, facilitate digestion, and ultimately lead full and active lives.

Elderly patients tend to avoid dental visits for a variety of reasons including:

  1. Pressing medical concerns
  2. Anxiety about treatment
  3. Fear or embarrassment

For elderly patients embarrassed or fearful of their current oral state, sedation dentistry can be your avenue to have confidence and overcome any fears you might have about the dentist.
Getting dental work done has never been this safe and easy. Take a seat, fall asleep, and wake up to an improved oral state!
